Dear StarBlog readers,

My name is Sumy! I'm from Sri Lanka but live in the UK, I speak English, Tamil, and some Sinhalese. I'm a student and I love to read and write stories and poetry, some of which are posted on the StarBlog, along with drawing, singing (though I don't think I'm very good), acting and writing scripts. In school, I love drama as it challenges me, allows me to be creative, and I enjoy acting and watching movies. I hope to write and direct some one day! I also love history because I think when you learn about the past, the present makes sense.

Tell us more about your background and cultural interests!

Fun facts about Sri Lanka:
- It's nick-named the Pearl of the Indian Ocean because of its natural beauty, and also as the Tear Drop of India as it's shaped like a teardrop, off the coast of India.
- Sri Lanka is home to 125 species of mammal, 433 species of bird, 245 species of butterfly, 96 species of snake, 97 species of lizard, and 383 species of spider.
- Tamil, one of the nation's official languages, is considered to be the oldest language in the world, dating back to 690 B.C to 900 B.C.
- It's the first country to appoint the world's first female Prime Minister, Sirimavo Bandaranaike, in 1960.
- Adam's Peak is a mountain located in Sabaragamuwa, which has a footprint (believed to be Biblical Adam's footprint) that's 1.8 m long.
- It's the fourth largest tea producer and third largest cinnamon producer and was the ancient world's leading producer of cinnamon.

Tell us about your Stardoll Journey!

I found Stardoll in 2014 while looking for games to play and came across this. At first, I created so many accounts because I kept forgetting the password or for some other reason. And about my username...well... I don't really know how I came up it, it's so weird! I don't know what I was thinking at the time, because I probably jumbled some words and letters and numbers together. Once, I had a long hiatus because I was bored of the game and I had exams and studies to focus on. I came back on to check what's up and found some great friends and I gained an interest in writing on my blog, I found out there was a StarBlog so I made that my aim. Also, I got involved in clubs and designing which turned out to be fun, I even had my own club for a while. I think that's why I keep coming back, because of friends, writing, designing and socializing.
