Myths About Starbloggers

för 56 månader sedan

Welcome back!

I have now been fulfilling the duties of a StarBlogger for just over 14 months. Having been a reader for almost 7 and a half years, it has been a pleasure to observe the growth and change of the StarBlog with time. However, many people hold misconceptions about the nature of the role of a starBlogger, and due to this I wanted to break down some myths about who we are and what we do.

You have to be a Superstar or Royalty doll to be a StarBlogger.

Many years ago, I used to believe this one myself! Despite many people believing this, Stardoll staff will take on StarBloggers based on what the content they produce is like, not whether they have a paid membership or not.

StarBloggers work for Stardoll.

I was shocked when I heard that some truly believe this! Popular to contrary belief, StarBloggers do not work for Stardoll, but are rather representatives of the site who volunteer for the role. Anyone can apply for the role, but it is not a job or a career choice.

All StarBloggers are young women.

Despite the stereotype, anybody of any gender identity or age can be a successful StarBlogger, as long as they hold close to their heart a passion for writing and interaction.

The first language of all StarBloggers has to be English.

To be an English language StarBlogger, proficiency in the English language is of course required. However, I myself spoke English as a second language and I know many other StarBloggers who this applies to. Don’t let this myth fool you!

Being a StarBlogger is easy.

All StarBloggers love what they do and are extremely passionate. However, writing engaging content regularly can never be an easy job, and usually takes more than one attempt. Be kind to StarBloggers, and be kind to each other :)

Were there any myths you believed?

Lots of love,
