- Modern Mona Lisa- Hey dolls! Beatrix here.
Awhile back, I did a look inspired by Frida Kahlo's Self Portrait with Thorn Necklace and Hummingbird, and just recently I felt inspired to do another Art Inspired post.
This time - the makeup will resemble a piece most of you are familiar with - Leonardo Da Vinci's Mona Lisa.- This makeup look is so simple and easy - partly because it requires little makeup. - For this look, set your eyebrows on the lightest blonde, and turn the oppacity down to where you can just barely see the outline. We want it to look like a very faint shadow, or a raising of the skin (sort of like a white ink tattoo would look.)
Next, set your mouth to a smirk or a pout. I chose pout because it fits my doll's face a lot better than the smirk. Mona Lisa is not pouting in her portrait - but we want to draw attention to the mouth.
Apply a light bronzer on your cheek - and then blend it out with a very light peach color, so it looks like a natural glow.
Finally, add some grays and browns to your eye and top it off with mascara.
For this look I chose a messy, middle parted hair. Mona Lisa's is parted towards the middle with small ringlets and I believe she has a veil covering some of her hair. That's a better option if you want to stay true to the art.
How would you style the Mona Lisa?
