Wacky Prints: Love ‘em or Hate ‘em

há 165 meses

Prada fall 2011, Imaxtree

There’s nothing like a cutting-edge print to initiate some of the craziest trends we’ve seen in a while. Trends are often based off of the unique print of the fabric themselves, which makes prints lots of fun to play with and mix-and-match.

Stella McCartney fall 2011 (L) and Mary Katrantzou spring 2011, Imaxtree

Last season, Prada’s banana covered shirt, and Stella McCartney’s fruit-overload prints left us with nothing short of wild “out-there” prints from designers. Mary Katrantzou’s spring 2011 line left us wanting to read a copy of Architectural Digest after seeing her screen prints.

Celine fall 2011, Imaxtree

But maybe the strangest of all was this seasons wood-paneled inspired pieces. From Rodarte to Celine, these camouflage savvy pieces were all the rage. It seems the main purpose of these unique prints would be to blend in on a picnic table or behind a tree. Who knows, maybe wood-paneled is the next camo! Crazy prints like these often receive mixed emotions. In a love/hate relationship, we’re indecisive as whether or not to just embrace the wackiness of it all. We’re all for an edgy trend and all, but sometimes they seem to just be a little over the top…
