Stardoll Chat Etiquette
Chat function on Stardoll is great, as it lets you stay in contact with your friends, have small talk, or even meet some new friends. While it is supposed to be fun, casual and relaxing, there are some people who abuse the function. So here are some guidelines you should follow while chatting with other members:
Don't slam people with messages. If you see your friend online and want to talk, feel free to send them a message or two. But if they do not reply after second message, stop. They are either busy, not in the mood, or just have their Stardoll tab open while they are doing something else.
Don't assume everyone speaks your native language. So don't start your conversation in a foreign language that isn't globally spoken. If you are not sure of what their native language is, speak to them in English, as most people speak that. Or you can check the country on their profile and assume which language they speak.
Respect people's time. If someone says they are not available to chat at the moment, they are doing their daily tasks, editing suite, blogging, etc, be kind and leave them alone.
Make sure you follow Stardoll One-Stop rules. Meaning no asking people for their personal information they do not feel comfortable sharing, and never, ever ask for user's password, e-mail or other sensitive information. If you get message like that, warn user not to ask so or they might get in trouble, but if they persist, feel free to report them.
