Winter Baking

há 117 meses

I don't know about where you live, but at the moment I am experiencing cold tempatures and quite a bit of snow. During the cold months I love to bake, and our family's signature baked goods are butter cookies. Every single year we bake them, and no one has a single complaint about them. If you're brave enough to try making them, (I'm still trying to perfect them) then here is the recipe for a single batch.

1 & 3/4 cups of flour

1/2 teasp. of baking powder

2/3 of a cup of butter

1 egg

1/2 cups od sugar

Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit . Mix butter and sugar, then add eggs and vanilla. Beat until creamy. Measure out flour amd add baking powder to flour, then add to the creamy mixture. Flour your cutting surface and roll the dough out to about a fourth of an inch thick. Cut with cookie cutters and place on greased cookie sheet to bake for 8-10 minutes.

Don't expect perfection at first! All good bakers have to learn.
