One style trend that is really hot right now is the powdery pastel colors. This is a trend that appears every summer and we get so happy every time! Soft pink, lavender, vanilla, sherbert green, peach, and sky blue! We love them all and think these colors are a great way to embrace the summer. Get inspired by starlets like Emma Roberts, Selena Gomez and Olivia Palermo who are showing their softer sides in pretty pastels!

    Photo: Alessandra Facchinetti

The last time we saw Alessandra Facchinetti she was gracefully trying to take the reins at Valentino after Garavani retired in 2007. She lasted just one year before she was dismissed immediately following the spring 2009 show. Before that, the designer spent a minute at Gucci, but it’s been three years since we’ve heard from her. Today Pinko announced that she’d be designing a collection in collaboration with the Italian company called Uniqueness. The ready-to-wear collection will debut at Paris Fashion Week in September and go on sale immediately after, both online and in stores. Facchinetti said in a release, “I’m excited to have the chance to work on such an innovative and unconventional project, where the freedom to interpret the times effectively becomes the brand’s DNA.”

Dean and Dan Caten of DSquared2 have run the aesthetic gamut from ripped short shorts to lumberjack jackets, from black tie tuxes to elegant dresses suited for ladies who lunch and last night, in London, the two launched their first capsule collection of seven suits. Their new emphasis, obviously, is on sharp tailoring. Said Dan, “We chose seven cities that we have really loved over the years. Obviously Toronto because that’s where we are from, then also New York, Milan, Paris, Beverly Hills, Hollywood and London. We designed each one based on our take of the city, so some have a tighter silhouette, others boxier—and we had loads of fun doing it.”

Remember MySpace? Ah, those were the days....and then Facebook happened and took over the internet. Maybe you've heard that MySpace was recently bought for a fraction of the price it was sold at years ago. (If you're interested, it was originally sold for $580 million and just a few weeks ago it was sold to Specific Media for $35 million. Ouch!). So basically MySpace is the ghost of internet past. But not to Justin Timberlake!

Inspired by his role in The Social Network, Justin decided take a minority stake in MySpace with hopes to do what seems impossible: make MySpace cool again. We don't have much hope that MySpace will ever be as big as Facebook, but if anyone can make it happen, it's Justin! Would you ever use MySpace again? (thehollywoodreporter)

Photo: Juergen Teller for Marc Jacobs

Helena Bonham Carter’s been very busy lately.  She’s starring in a new film, Toast, that kicked off the British film festival taking place across the States this summer, making another movie with her partner, Tim Burton, and frequent co-star, Johnny Depp, and, rather unexpectedly, turning up as the face of Marc Jacobs’ fall campaign. (It was photographed, and leaked by, Juergen Teller.) Bonham Carter took a minute off working with Burton and Depp in London to answer our questions.

Actress and It Girl, Zoe Kravitz, has a very unique style. She leans towards looks that are reminiscent of the 90s, with small sunglasses, velvet, and a twist of grunge. We're not 100% crazy about her look but it is certainly interesting. What do you guys think, would you trade wardrobes with Zoe?

Kate Middleton and Prince William recently landed in Canada to begin their Canadian tour. Kate, always the fashionista, arrived in Ottawa wearing a lovely, navy blue lace dress with nude heels. Kate wore a Canadian designer, Erdem, which is such a smart choice. We love the dress and we also love how Kate pulled her back! Such a sweet look! We can't wait to see more!

But um, why does Prince William look so sour in all the photos? Maybe he has jet lag.... (katemiddletonstyle)

Celebrities change their hair color like the rest of us change our shirts! Blondes shifting into dark beauties and brunettes going for a golden look is nothing new. But nowadays there is a new color taking over Hollywood! Nothing is trendier among the blondes than to shift into foxy read heads. And strangely enough it seems like the classic redheads, like Julia Roberts and Nicole Kidman, choose to become blondes! All we know is that these girls look great both as redheads and as blondes. But if you had to choose, what hair color should these celebs have? Blonde or red?

Hussein Chalayan‘s preparing for his first major retrospective, launching in Paris next week. On July 5th, Les Arts Decoratifs, with help from Swarovski, will pay tribute to the designer with a look back at his almost twenty year career. The crystal company’s sponsored quite a few of Chalayan’s shows over the past five years and six of his Swarovski-studded dresses will be at the center of the exhibit. We caught up with the designer to find out how he’s feeling on the eve of such a big moment.

Photos: Suno, Stella McCartney, Givenchy & Pedro Lourenco

A few designers took the word resort quite literally and threw some real life Hawaiian prints into their collections. There’s mixed media, indie surf enthusiasts, and minimal palm textiles that will make taking two weeks of leftover vacation time seem reasonable come holiday time. When indulging in a print so innately happy, how can you imagine yourself doing anything other than sipping daiquiris and soaking up Vitamin D? Only Stella McCartney could take the cringe-worthiness of the Hawaiian shirt and make it unexpectedly cool—as in, we’d actually wear it. Paired with contrasting board shorts, capelets, and lounge pants, her spring collection delivered some serious panache. At Suno, bonafide print experts Max Osterweis and Erin Beatty presented a dizzyingly bright palm-frond print. Although gauche by any other standard the duo’s designs were sophisticated thanks to their tailored silhouettes. French newcomer Pedro Lourenço took the opposite route with a minimal palm trees printed onto sleek shift dresses—well suited to the Palm Beach set’s penchant for tennis-like duds. Also rather sporty are Ricardo Tisci’s digitalized textiles at Givenchy—a mishmash of birds of paradise and hibiscus florals translated once more onto a shift. Even the Europeans have gone surfing USA!
