While orange and other citrus hues may have been spring and summer’s It colors, for fall and winter things are taking a much more somber note. A deep cobalt blue is going to be the shade for fall ’11, reminiscent of Yves Klein blue and post-World War II art. A close cousin to neutral navy, this is one of the most forgiving It colors we’ve seen in a while. We’re imagining pairing Yves Klein blue with other shades of blue for a beautiful monochrome look, or with black and cream for a classic taste, or as a backdrop to pops of red or neon.
