- Pushing your confidence- Hi all, Alice here! - Today, I would like to share an experience I had earlier with you all that pushed my confidence... - When acting, I am not that nervous, just the occassional butterflies, but singing makes me self-conscious. I love to sing but it scares me so much and the idea of people judging my voice raises that level so much more. - But today I took part in a concert my music class is doing as a part of my course for GCSE. We performed in front of the younger kids at my school (years 7 and 8) and they were so encouraging! - My first song was Love Yourself by Justin Bieber which I sang along with my friend but I soon got into it and the nerves flew away! The song I was extremely nervous about was my solo, Sia's Alive. Even attempting a Sia song is a big step for any singer but as it is one of my favourites, I just had to do it. - As soon as I came out, my knees were shaking and so was my voice until the first chorus where I just escaped into the song and by the end, the audience were singing along! - Singing in public is definitely out of my comfort-zone, but today I achieved it and the smile on my face is one I will wear for a while to come. The point of this post is to encourage you to do something out of your comfort zones... - Even if it is singing in front of people or challenging yourself intelectually with harder work - I encourage you to do it as it will honestly make you feel as great as I do now! - Stay confident! - - Alice
