Halloween Safety

97 maanden geleden

Halloween is coming up soon, and I couldn't be more excited! I love dressing up, getting scared, and, of course, the candy! Whether you prefer trick-or-treating or haunted houses, Halloween has something for everyone. Still, it's important to stay safe so we can all enjoy a hauntingly fun Halloween, so today I thought I'd talk about a few key Halloween safety rules.

- Trick-or-treating tips: Always go with your friends once it gets dark out, and bring along a flashlight or phone to light your way. Make sure you're visible to cars on the road, and try not to cross the street more than you have to. Stay in areas you know, and skip any houses that don't have lights on or decorations. Know your own comfort level with scariness; if a haunted house looks a bit too frightening for you, feel free to stay out.

- Costume conundrums: Especially when you're out at night, make sure your costume is reflective and visible to others. If you're wearing a costume to school or work, make sure it follows their rules. As Moosycakes has pointed out, steer clear of costumes that could be offensive. If they promote a stereotype and/or hurt someone... don't wear it!

- Candy chaos: All that Halloween candy is tempting, but restrain yourself! First, make sure all your goodies are securely wrapped, not expired, and in line with any allergies or sensitivities you might have. Brush your teeth plenty, and see how long you can make the candy last. (My record is March of the next year!)

Of course, the last rule is to have fun!

Also, don't forget to tell me about your spooky suites before October 29th!

Til next time!
