Straight or Curly?
Hi dollies!
Today's post is about the pro's and con's of straight hair and curly hair. By this I mean the natural state of your hair.
Straight hair:
I used to have naturally straight hair for around 5-6 years, I kind of wish I had it now, but here are some pro's and con's of straight hair.
Pro's:
- It takes little effort to have a tidy hairstyle
- No need for straightners or frizz serums
- Braids easier
- Takes less time to detangle
- Easy to part and style (not as many loose ends)
Con's:
- Not much volume
- Becomes greasy easier
- Heavy, therefore heated curls don't stay in
- Doesn't have much texture
- Hair can be prone to split ends
Curly hair:
As a baby, my hair was incredibly curly! Here are some pro's and con's of curly hair.
Pro's:
- Wear it up or down, it still looks good!
- Lack of shampooing, therefore keeping natural oils in
- No need for heat styling tools
- Lots of volume!
- Curly haired people tend to have thicker hair, which is more healthy.
Con's:
- Heat can make thick curly hair uncomfortable
- Brushing hair just makes the hair even bigger!
- Constantly needing frizz control serum
- Can be very tangled and are prone to knots
- Takes the shape of whatever you last had it in (a ponytail, the awkward kinks)
If you're like me, and have a mixture between the both, it's the best of both worlds. However it is next to impossible to keep your hair natural!
