Most of us know what complementary colours are, they're the colours which are opposite to each other on the colour wheel. But, maybe you might not know how to use them in an outfit? Well, I'll show you how to use them in an outfit in this post!

First off, let's look at the complementary colours, here is a colour wheel I made using StarDesign Hair:

Here are some ways to use complementary colours:

#1 - as an accent colour

Use accessories with complementary colours in it to add a subtle pop to your outfit!

This scarf has two complementary colours in it- red and green.

#2 - Tones

If you want to use clothes in an outfit which contrast, you can change the colour as long as it's in the same family. So, yellow and purple can be changed to yellow and blue, which will be a little bit easier on the eyes.

#3 - Clashing colours

If you're absolutely certain of this, just pick two colours which complement each other and use it in an outfit. It might clash heavily, but clashing colours are in, anyway.
