Alexis parents encouraged her to try community theater at the age of eight to overcome her shyness. She is best known for her role as Rory Gilmore in the television series Gilmore Girls. Alexis made her film debut in Tuck Everlasting, released in 2002, and has since starred in several films, such as The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants and The Good Guy.
