During 2020's Pride month, many cities' Prides are lending their collective voices to the ever-growing #BlackLivesMatter movement by including BLM in their normal Pride parades and marches because they understand that no one group can achieve equality until everyone is recognized as equal. And since Pride's start, the struggle of black and other people of color and those in the LGBTQIA community have been intertwined.

In fact, the Pride movement was sparked 51 years ago when many LGBTQIA people of color fought back against police brutality.
