Shared Dinners Sorted!
No matter whether you celebrate Christmas, Hannukah, or any other holiday around this time of year, it's quite likely you will end up at a shared dinner where everyone brings a plate. If you haven't already got a signature dish for potluck parties, try bringing a delicious, healthy, and easy to make Greek salad!
The Classic Recipe
A classsic Greek salad is super easy - all you need to do is chop up feta cheese, olives, red onion, cucumbers, and tomatoes, and dress it with olive oil! I personally like to add some balsamic vinegar to the recipe in order to create a simple vinaigrette. If you have vegan or lactose intolerant guests, leave the feta out or provide it in a seperate bowl so people can choose whether or not they want it!Adding Extras
If you want to spice up your contribution, here are a few suggestions for extras to add to your salad:
-Bell peppers
-Anchovies
-Sundried tomatoes
-Capers
-Beetroot
-Fresh or dry herbsA Tip for Onions
I often find that red onions can be too strong in a salad. If you feel the same way, simply chop the onions first and marinate them in a bowl with vinegar and some salt- they will taste delicious in the salad, and the leftover vinegar can be used in the dressing!Remember, always get an adult's help when using knives!
