Recently, one of the most anticipated music competitions of the year took place in Lisbon, Portugal:The Eurovision Song Contest! Many of you dolls are European, and, like me, were glued to your tv screen while the monumentous event unfolded, though it is only as we become older we understand that the Eurovision is far more than what some call a ‘cheesy’ song contest. The Eurovision has evolved and flourished into an evening where all of Europe and beyond unites together under the power of music and song. It is a place where we put aside political affairs and come and celebrate the beautiful countries and cultures of Europe. I’ve been following Eurovsion practically since I was born, with my parents holding their annual Eurovision party to mark the occasion. It is a joyous and exciting evening, both In my living room and all across Europe. Eurovision gives a voice and recognition to countries that we may not hear or even know a lot about and for that, I am most grateful!
