Domenico Dolce & Stefano Gabbana sit down with The Business of Fashion's Imran Amed.

When an important industry player sits down to speak with The Business of Fashion’s Imran Amed it’s safe to assume they’ve a lot to say—and won’t hold back. Stefano Gabbana and Domenico Dolce had their turn with the Canadian writer and fashion consultant today. As always, they talked about new media, blogs and fashion’s internet revolution. The Italian design duo’s perfectly positioned for such a discussion since they were the first luxury brand to place bloggers so prominently in the front row, first to livestream a fashion show and first to have a mobile website. We’ve gathered the best bits from their discussion below, but click here to watch the entire interview.

On that famous front row: “We have a bit attraction to the new generation, the new point of view…Somebody needs to start that change. In life you need to take a risk,” said Stefano. “Some people accuse the new generation of being ignorant, maybe ignorant for the old generation, but it’s a new language. I think today is a very special moment in the fashion business,” said Domenico.

On live streaming:  “My dream is to make a fashion show just for the audience and not the fashion people, because we need to say thank you to a lot of those people,” said Stefano. On not having a computer: “I love more to touch the fabric. Sometimes the computer is too slow. I don’t look at fashion shows on the internet because it’s too flat,” said Domenico.

On selling Dolce & Gabbana on Facebook:  “That is a very good idea! Why not?!”
