Eurovision - My Story

il y a 107 mois

Eurovision Song Contest is an annual music contest held in Europe. Each year countries send their best singers and bands to represent them. The song must be new and original creation, and the winner is chosen by combining the votes from judges and viewers who send messages voting for their favorite.

I started watching it with my brother in 2003, when I saw in a magazine my favorite band at the time was participating. They came 3rd, but what kept me interested were the amazing songs and performances by other participants. And I came back to watch it on 2004. And so on. Heard so many new, amazing songs.

The problem before was I had no Internet, so I could hear a song only once, or twice if I was lucky enough it won. But I could not know who was the favorite, so the anticipation and excitement was great, cheering loudly for my favorite song, getting sad they came 2nd (for example in 2006), etc.

But now, with the fast Internet being common thing in every household, I have an option on finding out the participants and songs even before the contest. I also can easily find out who has the highest odds of winning, which kinda ruins the excitement and suspense. But the good thing is, I can now listen to my favorite songs over and over again.

So each year, on the ESC finals, me and my brother gather, no matter what, and watch the show. We enjoy the good songs, cheer for our favorite, and just have fun.
