Tulle Love!
After the recent tulle-heavy SubCouture release, I decided to write a post about this beautiful fabric! Here is some tulle info and styling tips. Enjoy!
The Art of Tulle
This beautiful fabric is a type of very fine netting that originates from the city of Tulle in France. Makes sense, right? The thin fabric can be left to float around, pushed by the wind, or it can be starched into various shapes to create more dramatic looks. Available in lots of different colours, tulle is perfect to add to an outfit for contrast or as a pretty accent.Tulle Uses
Where might you have seen tulle used before? Think about ballet- tulle is often used in ballet skirts, either starched up into a pancake tutu, or left to float down in a bell shaped tutu. It's also often used in fancy evening wear and wedding dresses (especially wedding veils)! One of my fave uses for tulle is as an underskirt, used to add volume to a skirt,. I have a dress that uses tulle under the skirt to create a big, puffy, adorable skirt!Styling
When styling tulle, you might like to limit it to one or two items in your look (unless you are going for a statement outfit). I especially like to match tulle with other fabric types- for example, you could match it with pleather or velvet for a great contrasting look! How do you like to style tulle?
