WORLD REFUGEE DAY

hace 90 meses

In an effort to raise awareness of the refugee circumstance happening worldwide, let's talk about World Refugee Day.

In 2000, the United Nations General Assembly established World Refugee Day to be observed every year, on June 20th.

What is a refugee? A refugee is any person, who is forced to escape a country or region due to the dangers of war, or natural disasters and seek refugee or asylum elsewhere. Other factors can affect this kind of migration as well.

Many refugees spend years displaced in refugee camps, safe zones, or programs.

Over 65 million refugees have been displaced and migrated all over the world in 2016. That is the highest number of refugee displacement since World War 2.

Some of the nations, millions have fled from include; Nepal, Burma (Myanmar), Afghanistan, Syria, Ethiopia, Somalia, The D.R. Congo, and Honduras.

Every woman, man, and child has the human right to a dignified life, and to have hope and dreams.
