New Year's Resolutions
Well, dolls, 2016 is almost over. As we head into the New Year, it's common to think of something you want to change or do - a New Year's resolution. Here's a little guide to what kinds of resolutions you can make, and how to stick with them when it gets tough.
- Taking something out. Maybe your resolution is to get rid of something that's negative in your life. It could be unhealthy foods, too much screen time, or bad habits. When you're trying to stop doing these bad things, it can help to have a positive filler to take its place. Instead of logging on to social media, pick up a book. Get a nice manicure so you're not so tempted to bite your nails.
- Adding something in. On the flip side of the first resolution, you might want to consider adding something to your routine in 2017. For me, I need to focus on exercising more, so one of my resolutions is to go for a walk around the neighbourhood a few times a week. Other than that, you could try keeping your room clean, learning a new language or skill, or making new friends!
- Changing the world. Okay, you don't have to literally alter the entire world, but your resolution might be ways to focus less on yourself and more on others. You could volunteer with a charity, do a random act of kindness, donate clothes and food, fundraise....the possibilities are endless, and it's so easy to make a small difference that turns into something big.
