- Cartoon Mania - 'Cartoon Mania' is one of my all-time favourite trends, and with the return of the Powerpuff Girls, a Hey Arnold! movie in the works and of course Pokémon Go, this trend is more relevant than ever! Designers taking on this trend include personal favourite Jeremy Scott (cartoons such as Ren & Stimpy, Powerpuff Girls, Looney Tunes and Shrek across both his own brand and Moschino), Emma Mulholland (super cute alien and space girl images) and Anya Hindmarch (cartoon stickers and patches). - What I love most about this trend is the super kitsch approach, and not forgetting the nostalgic appeal. For all the looks in this post, I have stuck to the fun aspects of the trend and combined it with inspiration from Tokyo street style. - Of course you don't need to be so literal and wear cartoon characters across everything - you could instead choose pieces inspired by an art movement such as Pop Art. With these last looks, I chose the cartoon print skirt and bag which were inspired by Moschino Spring 2016. I kept the rest of the look simple with the white tops, leather jacket and denim. Lastly, I had to include the platform converse, as they are a staple with Harajuku street style. - Thank you for reading! What were/are some of your favourite cartoons?
