Sharon Bhagwan Rolls is women’s media advocate from Fiji.

 In April 2000, she was elected to the volunteer position of Secretary of the National Council of Women in Fiji, and it was in this position that she served as the Coordinator of the Blue Ribbon Peace Vigil when Fiji faced its second political coup.

It was during the “Blue Ribbon Peace Vigil” that she co-founded femLINKPACIFIC, a women’s media NGO (non-governmental organization) focused on increasing the visibility of gender issues and women’s stories and preventing conflicts through community media initiatives.

Today femLINKPACIFIC works with a cross section of women through a "Women, Peace and Security track" which includes its Generation Next project for Young Women Producers and Broadcasters.

Ms. Bhagwan Rolls was a member of the Fiji Government delegation to the UN Fourth World Conference on Women, where she also filed news reports for Fiji Television.

In June 2005, Sharon Bhagwan Rolls was included in the list of Pacific women in the 1000 Women for the Nobel Peace Prize 2005 initiative.

In 2010 she was appointed to the UN Civil Society Advisory Group on Women, Peace and Security.

She is a dedicated member of the YWCA and is a mother of Albert and Sian who both contribute to her work today.  

Sharon is also Fiji's first VJ - hosting the first TV music show when a TV service was introduced and today also continues to host special TV events such as the Hibiscus Festival which beams out to viewers in Fiji and several other Pacific Island countries.
