Tribute to Louise Bourgeois
One of the most imaginative creators in the contemporary art scene -- there were no limits to the media in which Louise Bourgeois worked. Primarily a sculptor, she etched, painted and participated in performance works -- and worked throughout a very long life as an artist.
1982 New York's Museum of Modern Art gave her a retrospective – the first it had ever mounted of a woman artist – The exhibition transformed her into the grande dame of American art.
When Louise Bourgeois died in the summer of 2010 at the age of 98 - the art world lost a hugely influential artist.
