1980's Inspired Makeup
Hello, dolls!
Today's tutorial is for a bright and bold 80's inspired look. Hope you enjoy!
Eyes: 80's makeup is synonymous with bright, almost garish, colours. Choose at least three colours and apply them in a block-like fashion. Blending is more of a modern technique - so don't worry if they seem jarring. When researching 80's makeup, I noticed that there was a heavy emphasis on colourful lids and crease, but dark eyeliner fading into the colours. Achieve this with a bold black all-over liner and wing. For added drama and definition, use a black eye pencil to smudge.
Lips: The 1980's was a time of bright berries and pinks, with the completely necessary dash of gloss. Choose a sparkly lipstick in a bright pink shade, or add the gloss later. I chose a slightly more muted berry shade, but still used heavy lip gloss.
Face: Contouring and highlighting are relatively new makeup techniques - the 80's was about one thing, and that was bright blush. Select a shade you might not usually use. I went for a bright, bubblegum pink. Remember, nothing needs to match exactly. 80's makeup is crazy and bold!
Complete the look with a frizzed up hairstyle, and you're complete! What are your thoughts on 80's makeup and beauty looks?
