Writing Workshop 6
Hi dollies!
Today's post is about editing your work. Now, if you have been following my writing workshops, you may have a lot of poems and proses. This then means you have to go and look back at your work to improve it and make minor adjustments.
I remember the first time I did First Story, a poet said that writers should be called 'Re-writers' because they are always re-writing their pieces to make it the best piece possible.
Tips on editing your work:
1. Slowly read aloud your work.
2. If you see something that doesn't make sense or you don't like: change it.
3. Go through it again and again.
4. If you can't see anymore changes, leave it.
5. After 24 hours, re-read it again.I also find it useful to pretend that you are someone else who is checking your work because I find editing one of the hardest things when writing. However, as soon as you get the hang of editing you can't stop!
I hope these help you when you edit your fantastic work!
