The Many Uses of Essential Oils
Essential oils are a great beauty buy if you're wanting to maintain a flawless complexion. They may not be the number one cure for any skin problems, but many of the ingredients in certain oils do wonders for the skin. Here are some of my favorite oils and why:
* Tea tree - this one I believe everyone should have! If you're got a blemish, put a little bit on overnight and it should have become smaller. You only need to use this stuff sparingly, so it will last you a long time. It also happens to be pretty easy to find, but you must get a diluted version! -Undiluted tea tree oil happens to be poisonous, while diluted is a gentle disinfectant.
* Lavender - first of all, the smell of lavender is such a lovely and relaxing scent, so why wouldn't you want it in oil form? Lavender oil is great for blemishes too and will soothe sunburn too.
* Peppermint - I find anything minty cooling and refreshing, and peppermint oil is just like that! It can help reduce a fever, help an upset tummy and even make you a bit less angry. You can even mist a bit on if you're feeling a bit hot.
How you can use your oils:
* Mix - you can mix it into your lotions and creams to get a nice smell and it will help topically.
* Inhale - Use a diffuser if you wish or, my favorite method, just mix it with a bit of water and spray it around. The room will smell lovely and you'll be inhaling its benefits.
I hope this post helps, and if you've got any, what are your favorite essential oils?
