Bioré Twenty-year-old Shailene Woodley, star of ABC’s The Secret Life of the American Teenager, dazzled critics with her role as the eldest daughter in a troubled family in The Descendants, earning a Golden Globe nomination for Best Supporting Actress. She also dazzled everyone who caught a glimpse of her on the red carpet before the event. We got an exclusive look into the mind of Shailene’s makeup artist Gloria Noto, who told us how she worked with Shailene to produce her fresh, bright glow and how you can get the same look at home. How did you and Shailene decide on the makeup for the evening, and how did her dress and personality play a role? We decided on the look as a whole team.  Myself, hair, wardrobe, and of course, Shai, all had a fun meeting looking over makeup and hair looks in books and online.  Then, of course, Shai’s personality and what she likes are truly what decides.  Before anything else—dress, trends, etc.—I wanted Shai to feel like her beautiful self. Did Shailene have any special requests when you two were figuring out the makeup? Yes! Shai knows who she is, in and out, which I admire so much. She knows things about herself that she loves to emphasize, like her skin and eyes.  She always loves to have a subtle contour on her cheekbones but likes everything else to be clean. She also loves mascara.  She wanted to achieve a look that appeared to be easy and light, yet flawless for the red carpet.  She didn’t want to look too made-up, since her dress was such a huge statement. What products did you use to achieve the look? On her skin, I used Biore’s new Combination Skin Balancing Cleanser. I love it because it cleanses oily skin without stripping the drier areas. Then I added a natural moisturizer to prep her face for makeup.  Next, I used a tinted foundation that had a light, dewy finish. On the eyes I used the Chanel Mystic Eyes Eyeshadow Quad. This quad has neutral grey and pewter tones that gives a beautiful defused look. I buffed Chanel Rouge Coco lip color in Destinee on her lips to give a subtle plum stain, then applied the Chanel Rouge Coco Lip Baume on top.  I used the Rose Marie Swift cream highlighter on her cheekbones and her inner eyes to add a soft glow.  Black Chanel mascara was used on her top and bottom lashes.  A translucent powder was applied down the center of her face so she wouldn’t look overly dewy. Did you give Shailene any products to tuck away in her purse for touch-ups? The only thing I gave Shai was the Chanel Lip Baum to hydrate her pout, and a disposable mascara wand to brush her eyebrows right before she exited her car and stepped onto the red carpet.

Michelle Williams had a Marilyn moment of her own when she stopped by “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” last week, turning heads in a smart and chic Jason Wu frock as she promoted her new Monroe biopic, My Week With Marilyn. Williams charmed the audience with tales of how she prepared for the role of the troubled 1950s sex symbol, and her outfit was just as praiseworthy as her convincing performance in the film. The actress looked clean-cut in a stunning peplum dress from Jason Wu’s Spring 2012 collection, paired with Fendi patent leather bow-front pumps. Williams wore minimal accessories and let the Swarovski elements on her dress provide all the sparkle and shine. Her makeup was sweet and simple as well: a berry color on her lips and orange polish on her fingernails. A touch of heavy mascara on her lashes added a bit of boldness. We were big fans of all the lace we saw on the shining starlets at the People’s Choice Awards this year. From Kristin Bell in fierce, fiery Valentino to Miley Cyrus in futuristic cream colored David Koma with a plunging mesh neckline, to Nina Dobrev’s glowing green Elie Saab mini, we were loving the intricate lace and mesh detail. Check out the do’s (and don’t's) of emulating this sophisticated red carpet trend below! How to Rock this Trend: Do…go bold. This is not your grandmother’s lace wedding dress. Look for deep, bright, eye-popping colors, like the magenta frock below.

Photo: Courtesy of Oasis Oasis lace frock, $45. Don’t…turn down long sleeves. With lace, long sleeves aren’t dowdy, they’re ultra-elegant.
Photo: Courtesy of Zara Zara lace dress,$60. Do…embrace clever cut-outs. Back, front, side…this trend welcomes all angles.
Photo: Courtesy of Missle Fridge Bengaline cut-out dress, $68. Don’t…be scared to take a plunge. A low neckline concealed in mesh or lace is daring without being  over the top.

Photo: Courtesy of Asos Pixie Lott mesh dress, $76. Do…say yes to texture. Sequins, glitter and embellishments on the body of the dress draw attention to the details of mesh cut-outs or accents.

Photo: Courtesy of The House of Fraser Lipsy sleeveless dress, $89 Don’t…forget to love your curves. This trend aims to flatter your figure by drawing attention to your curves while also keeping you (somewhat) covered. Look for dresses that hug and fit your form.
Photo: Courtesy of Top Shop Top Shop wrap dress, $39. Do…lay off the accessories. The intricacies of lace and mesh dresses add enough contrast and visual drama so leave flashy jewelry, shoes and bags at home. A simple pendant necklace is just enough (like the model in the below picture proves).

Now that we’re up to our ankles in awards season, we admit we look forward to seeing who’s wearing what more than who’s winning what. The favored trend of the evening was definitely elegance, with one floor-length, flowing gown after another. There weren’t many couples on the star-studded red carpet at the People’s Choice Awards last night, but the ones that graced the show were almost unbearably cute. With their expensive shoes and their ear-to-ear smiles, their obvious relationship bliss made the pain of staying up late to watch an internet vote-based award show in old sweatpants seem like a treat. Check out our top five cutest couples below!
    Photo: Splash News

Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth Without a doubt, Miley and Liam were the cutest couple at the PCA’s this year. We won’t lie, even if things don’t work out the second time around for this young couple, we’re glad they joined forces to be a completely adorable sandy-haired, rep carpet drab-fighting duo. Their outfits were also perfectly matched: both were tan, perfectly groomed and beaming.
    Photo:Splash News

David Boreanaz and Jaime Bergman The Bones star and his wife, Playboy model Jaime Bergman looked elegant and happy, proving that a married couple can pull it together after a scandal (or at least, look like they have).
    Photo:Splash News

Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka Neil Patrick Harris and his partner David Burtka were all suave smiles on the red carpet. Later that night, Neil took home Favorite TV Comedy Actor for his role as Barney in How I Met Your Mother.
    Photo: Splash News

Alyson Hannigan and Alex Densiof Alyson Hannigan was positively glowing at this years PCA’s in a red Alice + Olivia mini. The 37-year-0ld mom-to-be took home the award for Favorite Network TV Comedy along with her fellow How I Met Your Mother castmates. Her husband, Alex Densiof kept a huge smile on his face (and his hand on her prominently displayed baby bump) for the entire evening.
    Photo: Splash News

Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev This off and on (or, at least, kissing on) screen couple didn’t walk down the red carpet together.  They did return to LAX together though, where Ian pulled Nina’s luggage while the grinning Favorite Actress in a TV Drama chatted on the phone, presumably sharing the news of her win with friends and family.

We’re not sure if you’ve heard, but Twitter has become the new Facebook. Unlike FB, on Twitter you can follow and tweet your favorite celebrities that you wish were your friends and sometimes pretend are. (Has anyone actually ever gotten a reply?) And it’s good for pretty much anything: remember when Osama Bin Laden died, or Blue Ivy was born, where was the first place people turned? #Twitter. Now that the the First Lady herself has graced Twitter with her presence (@MichelleObama) While most celebrities tweet for promotion purposes (The Kardashians/Justin Bieber) and some just to keep you envious of their awesome lives (Still the Kardashians/Justin Bieber), others are actually worth pressing that follow button. Here we have the best celebrities to follow on Twitter; from the laugh out loud funny to the inspirational. Check em out along with some of our fav tweets!
    Lady Gaga

    Photo: Getty Images
Although she mainly tweets (and twit pics) about her new releases and her glam life, it’s still cool to get a glimpse into this ‘Born This Way’ singer’s life. Whether you’re a die hard little monster or not, her tweets will definitely keep you if not entertained, at least interested. Favorite: “My new years resolution: Never be afraid to be kicked in the teeth. Let the blood and the bruises define your legacy. – Lady Gaga 2012″ Umm OK, Gags.
    Shaquille O’Neal
    Photo: Getty Images
His bio reads: “VERY QUOTATIOUS, I PERFORM RANDOM ACTS OF SHAQNESS.” Yes, in all caps. The now retired basketball player is surprisingly and randomly funny with his obscure and whacky tweets that read similar to the stream-of-consciousness of a ditzy 13-year old girl. Favorite: “Why do they call minneapolis, the twin cities, nobody here looks a like, waaa waaa waaaaaa”
     Karl Lagerfeld

    Photo: Getty Images
OK, no, his Twitter is not actually verified. And it’s most likely not him tweeting, but we like to imagine Mr. Lagerfeld himself tweeting these always retweetable little gold nuggets of wisdom and inspiration. A girl can dream, right? Favorite: “I’m never content with what I do. I live in a sort of permanent dissatisfaction. I think that’s the secret to doing things well.” Stephen Colbert If you’re looking for some comedic relief between the tweets about what an awful day your friend is having and the recent devastating news story, Stepen Colbert’s Twitter is where you should (need) to turn for amazing new musings. Favorite: “I learned a lot covering the Iowa caucuses. For instance: Iowa and Idaho are not the same place. Uh oh, I’m becoming a geography nerd!”
    Leandra Medine
    Photo: Getty Images
Also known as the Man Repeller, Leandra’s Twitter is the best account out there that combines both fashion with comedy. Much like her blog, but shorter and borderline better because she gets to tweet parts of her outfit daily. Favorite: “I’m so over bras”
    Kanye West
    Photo: Getty Images
Surprise, surprise, it’s the Twitter King himself. When Kanye tweets, the world is a better place. Or at least the world stops to listen-ahem-read. His tweets are a mix of genius and insanity that range from fashion to music to complete randomness. Much like Kanye himself, his feed is both entertaining and sometimes annoying. Favorite: “I hate when I’m on a flight & wake up with a water bottle next 2 me like oh great now I gotta be responsible for this water  bottle.”
    Rev Run

    Photo: Getty Images
Rev Run from Run DMC, provides the world of Twitter with daily tweets of inspiration. His tweets are short, to the point and always uplifting. If you’re ever feeling down, just scroll through his feed and you’re sure to crack a smile more than once. Favorite: “Be happy”
    Ellen DeGeneres

    Photo: Getty Images
The completely hilarious Ellen is just as loveable on Twitter as she is on her show. Everything from witty one-liners to promotion of her show, it’s a must-follow account. You might even be lucky enough to get a retweet. Favorite: “Welcome to the world baby Blue Ivy and congratulations to your parents, Beyonce & Jay-Z. Love, your Godmother! *Unconfirmed”
    Barack Obama

    Photo: Getty Images
Hello, he’s the president. It might be nice to know what’s going on with the state of our country from time to time. we guess. Favorite: Well, they’re all pretty important.
    Mindy Kaling

    Photo: Getty Images
Named by TIME Magazine as one of the Twitter’s best, The Office writer and actress, Mindy Kaling never ever disappoints. A little self-deprecating and sometimes cynical, Mindy is a pro at 140-characters or less one-liners. If you’re not following her, do it. Now. Seriously. Favorite: “Inception was so confusing to me I have to pretend I didn’t see it so no one asks me my opinion or any questions about it.”

Actress Lucy Hale wowed us on the red carpet at last night’s People’s Choice Awards in a super-sculpted, sequined mini with a luxurious side train. The 22-year old actress, who took home a a PCA for Favorite Cable TV Drama along with her fellow Pretty Little Liars castmates looked both sweet and sophisticated in her sweeping Cengiz Abazoglu dress, winning her our Prom Look of the Day as well. How to Look Good With a Side Train: Mini & Mighty What makes this trend fresh is the mixing of a short and sweet dress with a long and elegant train. Shop for a simple, sheath silhouette. This lets the long train work as a statement on its own. Opposites Attract Look for a dress that has eye-catching embellishments. The contrast between the gentle, sweeping train and a jewel or sequin encrusted bodice, gives this look its signature pop. Feet First Make sure that your train doesn’t puddle around your feet and that you can walk, dance, and even jump up and down comfortably. If the train seems a little too long and drapes around your legs, consider pinning it to the side so you can rock the dramatic look without the dramatic sound of your dress ripping. OK, think your brave enough to rock the look on
the big night? Check out our picks below!

After seeing Josh Hutcherson on the red carpet at the People’s Choice Awards, we had to bump him up from Up-and-Coming Hollywood Cutie to Crush of the Week. The 19-year-old has been named “The One to Watch in 2012″ by MTV and not only do we agree,  we’re sure we’re to have a great time watching him. The Kentucky native—who moved to Cali to seek out acting opportunities—has not one but four movies coming out in 2012. Besides The Hunger Games, in which he plays Peeta, a tribute from District 12, he will also appear in Red Dawn, a remake of a thriller from the 80′s, Carmel, and Journey 2: The Mysterious Island, the sequel to the 2008 sci-fi adventure flick Journey to the Center of the Earth. Josh doesn’t seem to mind a crazy promoting and shooting schedule, telling MTV that “2012 is going to be a really big year [and] I’m looking forward to it, [There's going to be] a lot of press, a lot of traveling with that. I’m excited for ‘The Hunger Games’ to come out and see how that does and hopefully get started on the second one.” The nineteen year old also prides himself on the movies that he’s been in and counts himself lucky to not have been in any movies that “suck.” “That’s the most important thing for my career,” he told MTV “to choose the right material and to choose the characters that I care about and stories I want to tell. So that’s kind of how I’ve gone about my career since I was 9, more or less.” Luckily for us, all the hype surrounding The Hunger Games has led to Josh doing some great interviews, including sharing his fear of spiders, his love of basketball and what he looks for in a girl. He told Celebuzz, “ For me it’s all about being true to yourself and being real. I think if a girl tries to be something she’s not to try to make you think otherwise of her, then that’s just unattractive. I’d much rather be with somebody that’s naturally who they are.” There you have it ladies, be yourselves, and our Crush of the Week just might love you as much as we love him.

Attention all music-loving boys and girls: the Coachella 2012 lineup is finally here! This year, the music festival is expanding to two consecutive weekends, topping off a series of three spring music festivals that are sure to rock your season—South by Southwest (SXSW) and Ultra being the other two main players. But what’s arguably more important than what bands are hitting the stage is what to wear to each festival, which year by year attracts the most fashionable attendees and Hollywood celebs—Lea Michele, Ashley Greene, Vanessa Hudgens, and Kate Bosworth all hit Coachella last year dressed in their trendiest get-ups. To make sure you’re looking your best as you dance you heart out, here’s a guide to what to wear to this spring’s most talked about fests: MORE: Check out our must-know tips for surviving outdoor concerts! SXSW When: March 13-18 Where: Austin, TX SXSW is probably the most laid-back of the three, with most bands playing in small venues and bars around Austin. Since you’re in Texas, you’ve got to think southern with your wardrobe: we’re talking cowboy-style leather boots, cutoff denim shorts, breezy linen blouses, and a checkered flannel to drape over your shoulder (SXSW takes place in late March, so it should get a little chilly at night—even in Texas). Try these items for a perfectly southern look:

    Ultra Music Festival
When: March 23-25 Where: Bayfront Park, Downtown Miami You can tell by Ultra’s headliners (Tiesto, Justice, Aviici, and David Guetta) that this weekend is going to be one big party blasting house music all night long, so you might as well dress the part. You’ll be in Miami, and if that isn’t hot enough, the pounds of sweat pouring down your body as you dance will make you want to be glad that you dressed for the warm weather. Throw on your brightest neons and fluorescents and strap on a pair of colorful high top Dunks or Chuck Taylors to protect your feet—trust us, you don’t want some dude stomping all over your newly polished beach pedicure! Add some bold stunner shades to make a statement (oh, and to keep that Florida sun out of your eyes!) Give these ultra-cool items a try:

    Coachella
When: Weekend 1: April 13-15, Weekend 2: April 20-22 Where: Indio, California Definitely the most fashion-forward festival, Coachella is replete with fashionistas and fashionistos decked out in the season’s most trendy garb. With street style photographers abound, you’ll want to make sure you’re looking chic enough for the scene. The most important thing to remember is to wear lightweight material, because the temperature can really soar in the middle of the desert. A flirty printed dress is the perfect piece to wear, and you can accessorize it with fun tribal add-ons like big earrings and a feathery headband. Pair your patterned frock with strappy sandals—just make sure they’re flats!—so you can endure the weekend (or two) of music without getting your toes battered and bruised. Look like you’re a native Cali girl in these trendy pieces:
