Travel Anxiety Tips

79个月之前

Hey guys, Todays post is something a bit different: it's all about travelling with anxiety. I have suffered with anxiety for years and one thing that makes me extremely anxious is flying. I hate flying. A lot of my anxiety comes from being stuck and not being able to escape. Since summer is coming and many of you guys will be going on holiday, I thought I would share some tips.

sit next to the Aisle- Sounds silly but try and sit next to the aisle. I find this helps a lot as I don't feel as trapped and if I do find myself panicking, I'm able to get up and walk about. Obviously sometimes you don't get a choice, however I find this helps a lot.

Distract yourself- I know this sounds like a given but make yourself distracted even before you get on the plane and during the flight. Either listening to music or downloading some episodes of a tv show can be a great distraction and take your mind off flying.

Chew gum- especially during take off the last flight I was on, we were not allowed to wear headphones during take off. I great trick I learned was to chew gum which I think is a given when flying anyway but it's a great distraction as you can focus on chewing rather than the thing that is making you anxious. You can also do this with a lolli or sweets.

I know these are basic tips however they can really help. I know some of you guys have serious anxiety and have to take further measures but I hope these small tips can help a little bit.

Till Next Time Saff
