Cosgrove started her career in television commercials at the age of three. Her film debut was in 2003, as Summer Hathaway in School of Rock. She is best known for her role as Carly in the American sitcom "iCarly". The show premiered on Nickelodeon, September 2007, and focuses on a girl named Carly Shay who creates her own web show called iCarly. Following the success of iCarly, a soundtrack album was released in June 2008, in which Cosgrove performed four songs ("Leave It All to Me", "Stay My Baby", "About You Now", and "Headphones On").
